Does HisabAI send my SMS to a server to find expenses?
Direct answer
No. Raw SMS text is filtered and parsed on the Android device. The raw message body is not uploaded for normal SMS import.
When a supported bank or UPI alert is recognized, only structured transaction fields—such as amount, debit/credit direction, merchant, date, bank/reference information, category, and a one-way message hash used to prevent duplicates—are sent to the HisabAI server to sync the ledger.
This privacy behaviour applies specifically to SMS import. Receipt images, statement files, voice transcripts, and recorded voice commands use different processing flows and may be sent to a server, as explained below.
